BETTY SHYNE

Betty Ann Shyne, 76 of Monticello, Missouri died November 6, 2016 at her home in Monticello. The daughter of Ardell and Heddie (Manley) Williams was born on December 6, 1939 in rural Monticello, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Charles Shyne in Rock Island, Illinois. Betty was a member of the World Wide Church of God of Texas. She worked as a secretary at Farmall in Rock Island, Il., worked in the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) office in Iowa City, Iowa, graduated and worked at the Palmer School of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, worked at the Iowa Correctional System in Oakdale, Iowa and also worked as a food preparer for the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department Jail in Monticello, Mo. She had a contagious laugh and loved herbal gardening, cooking, bowling and family get togethers. She is survived by her son, Rory Williams of Quincy, Il.; her honorary daughter, Wendy Summers of Quincy, Il.; fifteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; three siblings, Rosa Jones of Rock Island, Il., George (Betty) Williams of Springfield, Ohio and Sue Osborne of Quincy, Il.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Daniel Summers, sister, Mary Pitts and four brothers, Kenneth, Earnest, Albert and Richard Williams. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Canton with Rev. Orville Jones officiating. Pallbearers: James Hearn, Johnny Osborne, Mike Osborne, Justin Summers, Jachaun Parker and Ronzy Brown. Honorary Pallbearers: Donald Osborne, Jr. and Jeremy Osborne. Visitation will be held Saturday morning from 11 a.m. until the time of services at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Canton. Burial will be in the Monticello Cemetery at Monticello, Missouri.
