SCOTT WOLTER

by Rita Cox

Scott Wolter, 32, of Leavenworth, KS formerly of Knox City, Mo., died unexpectedly July 5, 2015. Scott was born October 16, 1982, in Quincy, IL to Joyce Barnes and Larry Wolter. He was united in marriage to Courtney Hartmann, March 28, 2013. She survives in Leavenworth, KS where they had recently made their home.

Scott was a 2001 graduate from Knox County R-1 High School and was employed as a correctional officer at Lansing Correctional facility in Kansas and was a member of the elite SORT team.

Scott was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting, fishing and relaxing with his beloved dog, Ruby. He was involved in KF and SF4L knife groups, collecting knives and going to knife collector shows. Scott also expressed himself through his many tattoos. If one looked close enough they would see a tribute to his beloved Grandma Dorothy. Because of his varied interests, Scott had a wide array of friends and made friends easily. Scott had a great gift for telling stories and those who knew him knew of his quick wit. Scotts infectious humor and overall good nature will be missed as he has been taken from all who knew and loved him far too soon.

Scott leaves behind a large blended family including mother Joyce Klocke and Joe Howes of LaBelle, MO; father Larry Wolter and Kathy of Leavenworth, KS; siblings Nicole Wolter of Leavenworth, KS, Shanna Cochran of Minot, ND, Mandi Prescott of Leavenworth, KS, Jesse Wolter Leavenworth, KS, Josh Wolter of Leavenworth, KS, Hunter Klocke of LaBelle, MO, Ashley Howes of LaBelle, MO, Austin Howes of LaBelle, MO, several aunts, uncles, cousins and lifelong friend Jon Davis.
