JUDY L. DORAN

Judy L. Doran, 67, of Ewing, Mo., died September 8, 2016 at the Lewis County Nursing Home in Canton, Mo. She was born May 8, 1949 at Monticello, Mo., a daughter of Leo E. and Mildred L. Lewis Gaus. Judy enjoyed playing the piano as a young girl. She also played on three teams that went to the state basketball tournament while in high school and was known for her free throw shooting. Judy and her fiancé, J.L. Jones enjoyed traveling to many white beach destinations over the years; they also enjoyed shuffleboard tournament and playing golf. After she became ill, she enjoyed St. Louis Cardinal Baseball. Judy also enjoyed growing and caring for many flowers, but especially liked hibiscus, clematis and lilacs. Survivors include her fiancé J.L. Jones of La Grange, Mo; son, James “Duff” (Cindy) Doran of Smithville, Mo; daughter, Rhonda “Missy” (Steve) Henze of St. Charles, Mo; brother, Bill Gaus of Bellvue, NE; sister Brenda (Doug) Vaughn of Ewing, Mo; grandsons, Trent and Tyler Doran of Warrensburg, Mo, Chandler Henze of Springfield, Mo and Trey Henze of Columbia, Mo; nieces, Kimberly (Andrew) Greenbaum of Columbia, Mo, Lori (Kent) Strange, Knox City, Mo, Elaine Gaus of Shelbina, Mo; nephews Aaron Bell of Quincy, Ill, Stephen Vaughn of Pevely, Mo and Phil Gaus of LaPlata, Mo and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Donald, Robert and Larry Gaus. Funeral services were held September 11, 2016 at the Ball-Davis Funeral Home in Ewing with Pastor Ted Middleton officiating. Music: Recorded Selections. Pallbearers: Aaron Bell , Stephen Vaughn, Phil Gaus, Tracy Job, Jason Epperson and Lee Dunlap. Honorary Pallbearers: Donnie Hutcherson, Ronnie Hutcherson, Mickey Lewis and Willie Gaus. Burial will be in Lewistown Cemetery in Lewistown, Mo. The family suggests memorials be made to the Lewistown Cemetery in care of Ball-Davis Funeral Home, Ewing, MO.
