LINDEL (LINDY) WHEELER

September 08, 2016

Lindel (Lindy) Lee Wheeler, 61, of New Meadows, Idaho, died at his home on August 24, 2016. He was born July 5, 1955, in Quincy, Ill., to Wendel and Thelma (Broeker) Wheeler. Siblings include Susan Shelton, Newark, Mo; William Wheeler, Lake St. Louis, Mo; Nancy (John) Ernst, Rocky Mount, Mo; Karen (Randy) Scoggin, LaBelle, Mo; Cathy Howe, Newark, Mo, and Warner Wheeler, North Dakota. Lindy spent his life working on muscle cars for collectors and operating “Lindy’s” mechanic shop outside Riggins, Idaho. He was a man of many talents and utilized that talent to help others: he poured cement foundations, ran electrical wiring, installed plumbing, and put roofing on for people in the community. He had many pastimes: hiking the mountains, snow skiing, fishing in the Little Salmon that runs through his backyard, and making wood furniture and cabinets. He also gardened and landscaped his yard as well as the yards of his close friends. Lindy enjoyed life and it reflected in everything he did, from the way he mastered the BBQ pit to serve his guest, to the jovial persona he always had about him. Everything was larger than life and better because that is who he was. Those people that truly knew Lindy, will never forget him. Lindy enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.Survivors also include his wife, Stephanie (Pollard); daughters Christina Wheeler, Jackson, MO; Kayla (John) Demlow, Ellsworth, IL; and son Kyle (Jamie) Wheeler. Ellsworth, IL; stepdaughters Jennifer (Brad) West, Clearfield, Utah, and Kelly Price. Rochester, Minnesota. Grandchildren Braxton West and Haley Wheeler. Lindy is preceded in death by his parents, Wendel and Thelma Wheeler, and brother–in-law, Stan Shelton.

A “Celebration of Life” party was held in Pollack, Idaho. Memorials can be made to the Little Salmon Church of Pollack, Idaho.
