ROSE MARIE BECKMAN

Rose Marie Beckman, 77, of the Country Aire Retirement Estates in Lewistown formerly of Ewing, died July 10, 2016 in the home. She was born July 26, 1938 in Quincy, IL a daughter of George Lee and Lorena Isabelle Schmid Kroeger. She married Gerald Beckman. He passed away in 1984. Rose was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ewing. She enjoyed walking, sitting out doors and her short vacations to Hannibal to be with family. Rose was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Survivors include one daughter, Sonia Therese Abell of Hannibal, Mo; three granddaughters, Jessica Lynn Abell of Hannibal; Jennifer Lauren Abell of Hannibal; and Vanessa Brooke Travis of Bloomfield, Colo; three grandsons, James Lee Abell of Ewing, Jason Levi Abell of Durham, Mo., and Jeffrey Lyle Abell of Palmyra, Mo; five great grandchildren, Cody Foley, Georgia Foley, Kohleigh Abell, Shaine Sutton and Brentlee Abell; two brothers, George (Karen) Kroeger of Quincy, IL, Frank Kroeger of Durham, Mo; two sisters, Gloria (Jackie) McDonald of Hull, IL and Joyce (Eugene) Wellman of Columbia, Mo., and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Valerie Theresa Travis, two brothers Joseph and James Kroeger, one sister Mary Kroeger, sister in law Janet Kroeger, one granddaughter Brianna Elizabeth Travis and one grandson James Lee Abell Jr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 10 a.m. at the Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ewing with Fr. Christopher Aubuchon officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2016 from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Ball-Davis Funeral Home in Ewing, Mo.Music: Nan Wood, organist. Pallbearers: Joseph Lee Foley, Jessica Lynn Abell, James Lee Abell, Jason Levi Abell, Jeffrey Lyle Abell, Jennifer Lauren Abell and Vanessa Brooke Travis Honorary Pallbearers: Cody Foley, Georgia Foley, Kohleigh Abell, Shaine Sutton and Brentlee Abell. Burial will be in Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery in Ewing.
