GARRY L. TATE

Garry L. Tate, 59, of Canton, Mo., died June 11, 2016, in Keokuk, Iowa.

He was born to Mrs. Billie June Tate and Harold L. Tate on Sept.19, 1956. He married Beverly S. (Pennie) Tate on Nov. 28, 1990, in Canton, Mo. Garry attended Highland High School and was employed at Davis Cleaver in Quincy, Il., Gardner Denver in LaGrange, Mo., and also for Steel Castings in Keokuk. Garry then began his ministry at Green Chapel Church in LaGrange, and was presently serving as a minister at Pilgrim's Rest Church in Keokuk for sixteen years. 

Surviving are two daughters: Victoria Murphy and companion Tommi Spiker. Burlington; and Rochelle (Kevin) Henry, Canton; two sons: Jeffery Allen, Hannibal; and Kory (Chloe) Gay, Quincy; three sisters: Julie (Donnie) Dade, Hamilton; Debbie Tate,Keokuk; and Valerie (Carlos) Buckner, Keokuk; three step-brothers: Calvin, Jerry and Lonnie Hickman; four step-sisters: Arlene and Darlene Hickman, Beverly Baber and Quetta James; her brother-in-law Frank (Sara) Twomen, Canton; five sisters-in-law: Mary Grayson, Canton; Deborah (Lester) Clay; Ruby (Greg) Gay; Jeannie (Shawn) Clay, and Rachel (Mike) Raymond, all of Quincy. Other survivors include eight grandchildren, three aunts, and nieces, nephews, cousins, and Pilgrims Rest family and friends .

Garry is preceded in death by his mother, Billie June Tate, his father Harold L. Tate, and his stepbrother Steve Hickman. 

A Homegoing Celebration will be held at 11 a.m. June 16, 2016, at Pilgrims Rest Church in Keokuk, with Reverends JT Brown and John H. Mims.

After the celebration, a repast will be held at the church, followed by burial at La Belle Cemetery in La Belle, Missouri. 
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church directly before the service.
