NORMA JEAN (HOWARD) PURVINES

Norma Jean Purvines of Eureka, Mo., died June 3, 2016 at the age of 93. She was born May 19, 1923 in Williamstown, Mo.

Jean belonged to the Daughters of the American Revolution, Chapter FX of the P.E.O., the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit 170 in Canton, Kirkwood United Methodist Church in Kirkwood, Lewis County Historical Society, Northeast Missouri Genealogical Society, Missouri State Genealogical Society and was a Life Scout for over 65 years with the Eastern Missouri Girl Scout Council.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Loxi (Phillip) Barr of Canton, Mo.; son, Stephen (Leslie) Purvines of Morrison, Ill.; daughter, Lori (Robert) Goughenour of Sunset Hills, Mo.; son, Tommy (Deborah) Purvines of Eureka, Mo.; daughter Judi White of Kirkwood, Mo.; brothers, William Howard and Victor Howard Jr. of Hemet, Calif.; 20 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Victor Howard Sr. mother, Ferne Howard; spouse, Stuart Purvines and sister, Avilda Edwards.

Graveside services and inurnment will be at the Forest Grove Cemetery in Canton, Mo., on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Mandy Gosik officiating.
