JANIS KINDHART

Janis K. Kindhart, 53, of Augusta, IL., died May 8, 2016 at her home.

She was born on September 8, 1962 in Kahoka, Mo., Janis was the daughter of John and Rita Hatfield Derksen. She married Tim Kindhart on March 26, 2010 in Quincy, Ill. He survives.

Janis was currently employed at Hardees in Carthage where she was an award winning biscuit maker. She had formerly been employed at the Augusta Shelter Care, Golden Good Shepherd Home, and was the dietitian/manager of the Quincy Senior Citizens Center.

She attended the Augusta Assembly of God Church. She loved cooking and loved her dogs.

Surviving in addition to her husband is her daughter, Jasmine Nicole Poling of Quincy, IL.; her son, Rex Derksen of Quincy, IL.; two step sons, Trenton Kindhart of Keokuk, IA., and Thomas Kindhart of Quincy, IL.; eight grandchildren, Sabrina, Anthony, Hannah, Jason, Jeffrey, Carter, Traevean, and Breyon; her sister, Rita Black of Quincy, IL.; three brothers, Eric Derksen of Norfolk, VA., Erol Derksen of Monroe City, MO., and J.R. Derksen and his wife Angie of Monroe City, MO.; her father and mother in law, Earl and Donna Kindhart of Ursa, IL.; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother in law, Lon Kindhart; a sister in law, Sheila Kindhart; and a step daughter, Shannon Rae Graham.

Cremation has been accorded. A Memorial service was held a.m. May 14, 2016 at the Augusta Assembly of God Church by Revs. Patsy and Jerry Spratt. Memorials may be made to the family.

The Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, Ill., handled arrangements.
