LAWRENCE NICHOLS

Lawrence E. Nichols, 83, Canton, Missouri died April 21, 2016 at the Lewis County Nursing Home in Canton.

The son of Rueben and Viva Brookhart Nichols was born on July 1, 1932 at Williamstown, Missouri.

Lawrence served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as an automotive technician for Lewis County Motors in Canton, Missouri and Honda in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He had a passion for restoring old cars especially Model A’s and Model T’s.

He is survived by a brother, Ralph Nichols and wife Sandra of Williamstown, Mo.; half-sister, Karen Bradshaw and husband Ralph of Williamstown, Mo.; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and three special friends, Bob Tuley, Vincel Bronstine and Mike and Noma Genck all of Canton, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Maxine Nichols; infant sister, Rachel; brother, Harold Nichols; sister, Sarah Smallwood and an infant niece, Brenda Lee.

Funeral services were held April 24, 2016 at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Canton with Rev. Jim Campbell officiating. Visitation was held prior to services at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Canton. Pallbearers: Marty Sommers, Donald Sparks, Danny Shultz, Tim Smallwood, Ted Nichols and Chris Nichols. Honorary Pallbearers: Bob Tuley, Vincel Bronstine, Wayne Weiland, Mike and Noma Genck and the Aides and Nurses of Lewis County Nursing Home.

Burial with military honors by Herman Blum Post 192 and Ayer-Boatman VFW Post 4342 will be in the Ballard Cemetery near Neeper, Missouri.

Memorials may be made to the Ballard Cemetery Association.
