BOB ROBERT HOGAN

Bob' Robert Lawrence Hogan, 62, of Fulton, Mo., died March 19, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born July 2, 1955, to Donald Thomas Hogan and Bernice Hope Harris Hogan (Hanks) in Hillsboro, Ill. Bob graduated high school in 1973 and graduated in 1977 from Culver-Stockton College with a BS in Elementary Education. He was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity.

At C-SC, Bob was introduced to Martha Spurr by mutual friends at Fenway Landing on the Mississippi. They married August 9, 1980.

Surviving are three daughters, Elizabeth Grace Hogan McFarland (husband Kyle), Emily Hope Hogan and Erica Joy Hogan, Eleanor Claire McFarland, born Nov. 25, 2015. Also surviving are sisters Carol Gibilisco (Paul) and Susan Morris (David) of Omaha, Neb., and nieces and nephews

Bob taught fifth grade at Eugene Field School in Hannibal, while completing his Master's degree at Northeast Missouri State University. He became the principal of La Grange and Ewing Elementary Schools in Lewis County and continued studies at NEMSU earning a Specialist in Education degree. They moved to Fulton in 1986, where Bob was principal at Center School, McIntire School and one year at Fulton High School.

He was committed to creating opportunities for young people to reach their greatest potential. In 1999 Bob was named Missouri's National Distinguished Principal. After his retirement in 2008 he mentored his successor, substituted for FPS and worked at Tanglewood Golf Course. He was an elder and past board chairperson at First Christian Church. Bob was on the Salvation Army Board and Fulton Wall of Fame selection committee.
A Memorial Service was held March 26, 2016, at First Christian Church, Fulton, Mo. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, Fulton Public Schools Foundation or Culver-Stockton College.
