Mrs. Maribeth Lovell, 59, of Canton, Mo., died February 19, 2016 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill., surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born November 13, 1956 at Canton a daughter of Leland Eugene and Helen Elizabeth Porter Dochterman. She married Paul Eugene Lovell on April 22, 1989 at Canton. He passed away March 17, 2013.

Maribeth was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church at Canton. She graduated from Canton High School in 1974 and has worked at Henniges in Keokuk since 1977 and was also an Avon representative. Maribeth loved her community and was very caring and helpful to everyone. She had a contagious laugh and smile that will always be remembered. Her children will remember the wonderful family dinners that she would prepare and her love for her family especially her grandchildren’s activities and the love she gave to her pets.

Survivors include her children, Penny Johnston, Michelle (Kevin) Shaffer, Valerie Lovell and Caleb Lovell all of Canton, Paula (Darin) Blaise and Melissa (Ty) Eckland both of Keokuk, Iowa; brother, Leland Wayne (Donna) Dochterman DVM of Mt Horeb, Wisc., sister Helen Frances (Roger) Colvin of Fulton, MD; grandsons, Trent (Chelsie) Lovell, Nathan Stevens, Ethan and Tallon Blaise, Chase Eckland, Roy Johnston III and Landon Shaffer; granddaughters, Mariah and Cora Shaffer, Hope Johnston, Makenah and Kerrigan Eckland; great granddaughter Adalynn Lovell and her dog Blaze.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Glennon Dochterman and sister in infancy Brenda Lee.

Funeral services were held February 23, 2016 at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton with Rev. Elsie McNeil and Rev. Terry Lovell officiating.Visitation was held February 22, 2016 at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton. Music: Recorded selections. Pallbearers: Nathan Stevens, Tony Casley, Trent Lovell, Michael Manley, Kevin Dochterman and Mark Dochterman. Honorary pallbearers: Roy Johnston III, Landon Shaffer, Paul Guilfoyle, Kevin Shaffer, Donnie Wolf and Elmer Ott.

Burial was in Forest Grove Cemetery in Canton.

The family suggests memorials be made to Centenary United Methodist Church or to the Pleasant Grove 4-H Club.
