WAYNE WILLARD LEWIS

Wayne Willard Lewis, 83, of LaGrange, Mo., died May 10, 2022 at his home in LaGrange.

He was born January 5, 1939 in LaGrange a son of Lenvil and Emmalee Calsaw. He married Carol Hickman on May 5, 1956 in Canton, Mo. She passed away July 11, 2011.

Wayne was a graduate of Hannibal High School. He had worked 40 years for the same company starting at Electric Wheel, then, Can Am and eventually Titan Wheel in Quincy. He was a lover of flowers, working in his beautiful yard and was meticulous about keeping his home clean. Some of Wayne’s favorite things to do were watching Wheel of Fortune, Western shows, doing word search, sitting on his front porch visiting with family and friends and watching his beloved Dallas Cowboys and eating Pork Chops and fried Potatoes. Wayne was known as “The Cat” to his family and friends. He was also a member Green Chapel Baptist Church in LaGrange.

Survivors include his sons, Wayne Lewis Jr. and Tony (Vicki) Lewis of Quincy, and Kerry Lewis of Mexico, Mo.; daughters, Stephaine Jones and Frances (Carl) Lewis Sivels both of LaGrange and Marquetta (Robert) Magruder of Rock Island, Ill.; 12 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren; sisters in law, Shirley Shephard of Quincy, Norma Sue (Michael) Benson, of Davenport, Ia., and Beverly Lewis of Quincy and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, Richard “Buck” Lewis, Ralph Milton Lewis and Wilford “Charlie” Lewis, sisters, Cleo Robinson, Frieda Lewis, Lottie Humphrey and June Scott.

Funeral services and visitation were held May 14, 2022 at the Davis Funeral Home in LaGrange with Minister Dane Humphrey officiating. Pallbearers: Robert Lane, Randy Lewis, Michael Dade, Kole Johnson Lewis, Derek Lewis and Finley Lewis III. Music: Claude Humphrey

Burial was in Memorial Cemetery.
