EMERY GEISENDORFER, SR.

Emery O. Geisendorfer, Sr., 80 died unexpectedly on April 27, 2015 on his farm located west of Monticello, Missouri.

Emery was born December 30, 1934, one mile west of his current home, the son of E.O. Otho and Ruth L. (Downs) Geisendorfer. He attended Monticello Elementary School and finished his education at LEMO High School in Lewistown, Missouri.

He married Arminta Ashmead on December 13, 1953 in the brides home in Lewistown, Missouri.

He devoted his life to farming with his family, where he enjoyed raising cattle, growing crops and experiencing the day to day activities of rural living.

Emery was a member of the Monticello Methodist Church. He served various capacities with multiple community organizations throughout his life. He took pride in his service on the Lewis County C-1 School Board and was a member of the Lewis County Republican Central Committee for over 40 years. He was also a member of the Monticello A.F. & A.M. Masonic Lodge #58 and was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and member of Moolah Shrine Temple of St. Louis, Mo. He served as a Monticello 4-H Club leader and enjoyed helping his children and grandchildren with their 4-H projects for many years.

Emery leaves behind his wife Arminta; four children, Emery O. Buster (Jan) Geisendorfer, Jr. of Monticello, Mo., James E. (Jeana) Geisendorfer of Monticello, Mo., Laura R. Logsdon (and companion Joe Eisenbeiss) of Monticello, Mo. and Jeff L. (Stacey) Geisendorfer of Troy, Mo.; grandchildren, Nicole (Jamie) Goodwin, Bridget (Cody) Browning, Keli Geisendorfer, Nicole Edington, Jeremy (Miki) Geisendorfer, Ethan (Lydia) Geisendorfer, Avery Logsdon, Parker and Cooper Geisendorfer; great-grandchildren, Evan and Emery Goodwin, Cole and Alexis Browning, Natalie Wilson and Ty Edington, Jolie and Lucas Geisendorfer and Elizabeth Ellie Geisendorfer; one brother, Leonard (Francie) Geisendorfer of Ewing, Mo., two sisters, Neva Sue (Harry) Emrick of Quincy, Il., Mary (Larry) McConnell of Lewistown, Mo.; sisters-in-law, Dova Geisendorfer of Lewistown, Mo., Erma Geisendorfer of LaBelle, Mo. and Nancy Geisendorfer of Monticello, Mo. and a large extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Edward, Kenny and John Geisendorfer, and an infant brother and sister.

Funeral services were held May 1, 2015 at Arnolds Funeral Home in Lewistown, Missouri with Rev. Elsie McNeil and Rev. Tom Dombrowski officiating.Pallbearers were Avery Logsdon, Parker Geisendorfer, Cooper Geisendorfer, Jamie Goodwin, Cody Browning, Jeremy Geisendorfer, Ethan Geisendorfer and Zach Geisendorfer. Visitation and Masonic services were held April 30 at Arnolds Funeral Home in Lewistown.

Burial was in the Lewistown Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Lewis County C-1 FFA Chapter, The Monticello Masonic Lodge #58, or the Monticello United Methodist Church
