June 23, 2021

Steve and Hazel Hampton of rural Williamstown, Mo., celebrated 50 years of marriage on June 19 with family and friends.

Steve and Hazel were married on June 19, 1971 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Kewanee, Ill., where they were both youth leaders for the church. They said it was the hottest day of the year, so hot that three rolls of the photographer’s film melted.

Steve and Hazel have three children, Sherry White of Jefferson City, Alex Hampton of San Diego, CA., and Christine Bright of Hannibal, Mo. They have seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Steve was drafted into the U.S. Army in December 1966. He served 12 months in Vietnam, four years in Germany and three years at Ft. Leonard Wood. Steve retired from Lock and Dam 20 with over 32 years with the U.S. Government. He also worked at Ursa Farmer’s Co-op for six years. Hazel is a graduate of Kewanee High School.

They enjoy their family and their dog Scarlett. Steve enjoys woodworking. Hazel enjoys crafts, sewing, music and playing her violin.

Cards may be sent to the couple at P.O. Box 15, Canton, Mo.
