KENT LEFTWICH

Mr. Kent Leftwich, age 79, of Canton, Mo., died November 22, 2020 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.

Kent was born October 14, 1941 at Gregory Landing, MO a son of Howard E. and DeLorus J. Schorr Leftwich. He married Vicki Bader in Canton, MO on June 4, 1961, and she survives.

Kent graduated from Canton high school in 1959. He was a mechanic for Martin Chevrolet until it was sold. He then worked for Logsdon Elevator in Gregory and then started farming with his parents, afterwards taking over the farm in later years. He was a long time member of the Gregory Drainage District. He loved to play basketball and baseball in High School and then started to play fast pitch and slow pitch softball. He also enjoyed bowling with his friends at the Cotton Bowl in Canton and for a number of years was on the Don’s Grand Leader and Pharmacy team. Kent was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed live sports, especially when it came to his grandchildren’s events. Kent enjoyed taking his family on vacation to the Smokey Mountains and visiting the civil war parks. He treasured time and togetherness with his family.
Survivors include his wife Vicki of Canton, two sons, Todd (Denise) Leftwich of Canton and Greg (Jennifer) Leftwich of Palmyra; three grandchildren, Bailey Leftwich of Orlando, FL, Taylor (Natalie) Leftwich of Richmond, MO and Gage Leftwich of Palmyra; one sister, Deanna (Alan) Williams of Sun Lakes AZ and several nieces and nephews

The family suggests memorials be made to the Canton Chapter FFA, Local 4-H, Buck Run Conservation, Shriners Children’s Hospital or to Grace Science.Org., an organization doing research into a possible cure for his grandson Gage’s rare disease. These memorials may be mailed or delivered to Davis Funeral Home, P.O. Box 108, Canton, MO 63435.

Private family services will be held at Forest Grove Cemetery in Canton, MO.
