Orville Dean Minter

Orville Dean Minter, 83, of LaGrange, Missouri and formerly of Monroe City, Mo., died February 16, 2020, at his home in LaGrange, Mo.

Orville was born August 24, 1936, in Shelbyville, Missouri to William Lee Minter and Virgie A. Howard Minter. Orville served his country proudly as a United States Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Professionally Orville was a concrete finisher and also previously worked in woodworking and at CAN-AM. Orville enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing and camping. Old westerns on TV, Kansas City Chiefs football and Blues music were a few of Orville's favorites. Orville also took pleasure in occasional visits to the casino to play the slots. Most of all Orville cherished the moments he shared with his family and friends. Orville was a Christian by faith.

Survivors include his long time companion for over 32 years, Sharon Lewis. 5 children, Orville Lee Minter, Jr. (Sandra) of Monroe City, MO, Donna Marie Minter of Monroe City, MO, Patrick Minter (Mary) of Monroe City, MO, Casey Minter (Amy) of Mexico, MO and Johnny Lee Lankford (Julie) of Cofax, Iowa, 1 brother, Willard Minter (Donna) of the state of Texas. He is also survived by 1 step son, Kevin Lewis and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and cousins.

Orville is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Lola Richardson(Jerry), Mary Minter Grant, Clara Jones(Chester), three brothers, Donald Ray, Jimmy Minter (Lizzy), Virgil Minter, and two sons, Jeff Dewayne Minter and Ray Nixon.

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM, Saturday, February 22, 2020 at the James O'Donnell Life Celebration Home in Monroe City, MO. Patrick Minter will officiate.

Friends and Family are invited to Orville's Life Celebration at a visitation that will be from 11:00 AM, Saturday until the time of services at the funeral home. Pallbearers: Mark Fitzpatrick, Patrick Ryan Minter, Jr., Kaleb August Minter, Andre Nixon, Payton Nixon and Orville White III.

Honorary pallbearers: Sonny Fitzpatrick and Willard Minter.

Burial with full military rites by Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post 55 will be at St. Jude's Cemetery in Monroe, City, MO.
