48th Annual Highland Tournament

The 48th annual Highland Tournament took place last week, with weather being a factor and championships games being postponed. The games have been rescheduled for Sat. Jan 18 with the Highland girls will face Kirksville in the consolation game at noon. Girls championship game with Macon and Palmyra will begin at 1:30 p.m. and the boy’s championship game with Palmyra and Kirksville begins at 3 p.m.

The Highland boys took the consolation title in a win over Knox County 48-47 on Jan. 10. They lost in the first round to Clark County 69-45. Highland and Canton boys played on Jan. 9 with Highland winning 72-56. The Highland Lady Cougars won 65-55 over the Canton Lady Tigers on Jan. 8. The Canton boys lost 74-61 to Palmyra on Jan. 7 . Clark County won the boys thirds place game and the Scotland County girls also won third place over Clark County girls.

Highland and Canton were to meet in their annual regularly scheduled game on Jan. 14. Canton and Highland will participate in the annual Palmyra tournament next week.
