Extension Council Election

The names of two people will be on the January ballot for election of the University of Missouri Lewis County Extension Council. Council chair Lea Rash said two (2) residents will be elected from the Southern district (LaBelle, Salem, Highland, and Union Townships) to fill this year’s vacancies. According to state law, the new council will begin its duties on March 1, 2020. University of Missouri Extension offers educational programs in such categories as agriculture and natural resources, family and financial education, nutrition, business and industry, community development, youth development (4-H), and seminars and workshops. University of Missouri Extension programs are open to all. The county extension council works with University of Missouri Extension faculty members in planning and making recommendations for educational programs. Anyone 18 or older, residing in the Southern District, is eligible to vote. Ballots will be available at the Lewis Co. Extension Office January 20-24, 2020; 9 a.m. -noon, 12:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m. Ballots may also be cast online at the Lewis County Extension website at http://extension.missouri.edu/lewis.
