Lewistown and LaGrange to Host Events

LaGrange and Lewistown will both host events on September 14. Lewistown will have activities all day and evening. LaGrange will host evening only events. The LaGrange Annual Fourth of July Appreciation Day had to be postponed due to river flooding. The band Eleven will begin to play at 6:30 p.m. at the Mineral Well park. A huge fireworks show will begin after the band, around 9:30 or a little later. The show promises to be one of the biggest and best in the area. LaGrange is known for their fireworks display and events. There will be vendors. Everyone is invited.

Lewistown Business Appreciation Day will also be held Saturday, September 14 at the Lewistown Park. Events include a silent auction, located at the American Legion Hall, Pedal Power Tractor Pull at 10 a.m. with registration at 9:30. The Little Mr. and Miss contest will be at 11 a.m. and the We Moderns Club will have tacos at the shelter house also beginning at 11 a.m. The Parade begins t 1 p.m. and lineup at the old school parking lot starts at 12:15 p.m. The Lewistown Vikings will host a Horse Shoe Tournament at 1:30. Power Wheels Derby will be at 2 p.m. with registration beginning at 145 p.m. Bingo begins at 2 p.m. a Video Game Competition for all ages will be at 3 p.m. Music by Lyndon Alderton and other local talent is from 3 to 5 p.m. The Lewistown Vikings will also host a Washers Tournament that begins at 4 p.m. A free meal, provided by the Lewistown Business Community begins at 5 p.m. Blacktop South provides live music for the street dance from 7 to 11 p.m. Vendors and other activities all day. Everyone invited to join the Lewistown Community celebrate their 34th annual event.
