Have Fun At The Fair

The Lewis County Agricultural Fair begins on July 10. Opening ceremonies are scheduled for Tuesday evening, July 9 at 7 p.m. in front of the 4-H Youth Building.

Generations of Fun is the theme for the 44th year of the annual event. Many families have a tradition of going to the fair to have fun, visit with friends and neighbors, eat, play and enjoy the sights and sounds of all the activities. The yearly event is a great place to talk with people, see all the hard work of the volunteers and admire the talents of many of the local 4-H club members.

Highlights of the fair on Wednesday, July 10 include: Family Fun Night, kids under 12 years of age get free admission. Also the Little Mr and Miss contest and the Fair Queen Contest will be a popular attraction along with the auction of baked goods. The Backseat driving contest is in the main arena.

Thursday, July 12: Baby contest, Rooster Crowing contest and Night of Destruction- two wheel drive redneck rally race, four wheel drive redneck rally race, tough trucks and figure 8 derby are featured in the main arena. Adam Powell will be featured in the Beer Gardens.

Friday, July 13: Power Wheel Derby in the main arena, followed by the Demolition Derby. Bootcut will be featured in the Beer Gardens.

Saturday. July 14: BBQ contest, volleyball, youth games, hay bale toss and in the evening a Truck and Tractor Pull will be featured in the main arena. Riverside will be featured in the Beer Gardens.

Connor Family Amusements will provide the carnival rides and games. Armbands will be available all four nights from 6 to 9 p.m. Rides will be in operation beginning at 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and on Saturday rides will begin at 1 p.m.

There are hundreds of activities and livestock shows scheduled. Plenty of good food served and lots of people to visit with. Enjoy and support the Lewis County Agricultural Fair.
