JAMES ZAHN

James Steven Zahn, age 78, of LaBelle, MO, died March 30, 2019, in the Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.

He was born July 21, 1940, in Knox County, MO the son of Steven Peter and Margaret Lee Pulse Zahn. He was united in marriage to Sharon Wallace and to this union two children were born. He was also united in marriage to Linda McReynolds and to this union he had three children and one step-daughter.

Jim resided most of his life in the LaBelle area. He received his education in Knox and Lewis counties. Jim was employed as a truck driver for several years and also employed at the Mark Twain Casino for thirteen years. Jim enjoyed life. He helped start the Alcoholic Anonymous Chapter in LaBelle in 1972. He also enjoyed spending time working on cars and visiting with family and friends.

Surviving are seven children, Tammy (Troy) Pfeiferling of Woodlands, TX, Tracy Elder of Keokuk, IA, Kathy (Larry) Edwards of Knox City, MO, Kim (Larry) Givens of Dickson, TN, Mitch Zahn of Kingston Springs, TN, Melissa Manning of Palmyra, MO, and Jim Skinner of Buffalo, IA, one brother Donald (Cathy) Zahn of LaGrange, MO, fourteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John William and Richard Lynn Zahn, two sisters, Marsha Hemme and Mary Jacobs, one brother-in-law Dale Jacobs, a niece Katrina Jacobs Hollis and a nephew Heath Zahn.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2019, in the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, MO., with visitation from noon until time of services. Reverend Barry Pfister will officiate the services. Casket bearers will be Adam Harvey, Adam Elder, Johnny Zahn, Leslie Zahn, Chad Zahn and Randy Zahn.

Burial will be in the LaBelle Cemetery.
