DIANE GABRIELLE AMBROZI-JORGENSEN

 Diane Gabrielle Ambrozi-Jorgensen, 61, of Canton, Mo., died March 9, 2019 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family.

She was born February 16, 1958 in St. Joseph, MO a daughter of Martin R. and Diane Sut Ambrozi II.  

 She was raised in St. Joseph, MO with her five brothers and one sister. She attended Immaculate Conception Grade School, Bliss Middle School, Central High School and Missouri Western State College.

 She was married to Russell Dodds from 1976-86 and had three children, Rachael, born in 1978, Josh in 1980 and Kyle in 1981. 

While Diane was a single mother, she completed her nursing degree in 1989 from Missouri Western State College. She married Joe Jorgensen on November 10, 1991 at Zion United Methodist Church in Robinson, KS. They have two children, Dakotah born in 1991 and Jerikoh in 1996.

 Known for her compassionate and empathic heart, Diane felt her most important job was to be a good mother, wife and serve her community. She wanted to cure cancer when she was just 12 years old. She was a compassionate person that always had the interests of others in mind. She was courageous in her own fight against cancer and helped many others with their health concerns. She was sensitive, ambitious, charming, witty and had an incredible sense of humor. She filled her home with love and comfort. She was resilient and overcame many obstacles including the loss of her daughter Rachael. Her legacy will live on through acts of kindness, compassionate caring and always considering others.

 She had been employed at Heartland Hospital (St. Joseph, MO), Hiawatha Nursing Home (KS), Wathena Nursing Home (KS), Platte City Nursing Home (Platte City, MO), Blessing Hospital Dialysis Unit (Quincy, IL), Director of Nursing at Lewis County Nursing Home (Canton, MO), Director of Nursing at Sunset Home (Quincy, IL) and completed her career as the School Nurse at Canton R-V School District (Canton, MO). She also served on the State Board of Nursing Home Administrators in Missouri for three years. 

 Survivors include her husband, Joe of Canton; three sons, Joshua (Melissa) Dodds of Middletown, PA, Kyle Dodds of  Papillion, NE and Jerikoh Jorgensen of Overland Park, KS; one daughter Dakotah Jorgensen of Kansas City, MO and step-daughter, Shiloh (Andrew) Tyler of Wichita, KS; grandchildren, Memphis, Matthew, Sydney, Owen and Harrison Dodds and Elizabeth Tyler; one sister, Christine (Patrick) Eckhardt of St. Joseph; three brothers, Fritz (Gina McEnaney) Ambrozi of St. Joseph, Jan (Joy) Ambrozi of Hemple, MO and Kurt Ambrozi of Wathena, KS and several nieces and nephews.

 Diane was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Rachael Dodds and two brothers, Martin Ambrozi III and Eric Ambrozi.          

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at Alexander Campbell Auditorium on the campus of Culver-Stockton College in Canton with Pastor Mandy Gosik officiating.  A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until time of services at 7:00 p.m. in Alexander Campbell Auditorium in Canton, MO. Pallbearers: Martin Ambrozi, Fritz Karl Ambrozi, Jason Mulvaney Sr., Eric Christopher Ambrozi, Ryan Ambrozi and Gannon Eckhardt. Honorary Pallbearers: Kathy Ludwig, Pam Martz, Justin Runk, Andy Anderson, Sarah Mueller, Dennis Stainbrook and Administration, Faculty and Staff at Canton R-5.

Music: Hallelujah, Yesterday by the Beatles, Amazing Grace by Susi Job and Imagine by John Lennon

 Committal services and burial will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, St. Joseph, MO on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cemetery Chapel with Pastor Derek Vreeland officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Canton R-5 for the soccer program and for clothing items for students in need.
