Pastor Larry Andrew Olson, 59, of Taylor, Missouri passed away peacefully in his sleep, January 27, 2019 at his home.
Pastor Larry was born May 21, 1959, in Washburn, Wisconsin to Harry J. Olson and Cora Harriet Dolezal Olson. He was previously married to Jill Olson. Pastor Larry later married Cathleen Salsman on July 8, 2006 in Mercer, Wisconsin. She survives.
Other survivors include three children, Ryan Andrew Olson (Nicole) of Mellen, WI, Tracy Olson of Ashland, WI, and Kenneth Andrew Huguenard of Eugene, OR; one brother, Harry Olson (Sue) of Florida; and seven grandchildren, Kyera, Maddi, Baella, Jordyn, Katie'Jo, Maisie'Mae and Lucy Mary Ellen Robertson.
Pastor Larry was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Ron Olson, and one granddaughter, Brooke Taylor Olson.
Professionally, Pastor Larry served as a minister at the Mt. Olivet Charge, which included Taylor, LaGrange, and Durham United Methodist Churches.
Pastor Larry graduated from high school in Washburn, Wisconsin. He attended college before serving in the military. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a medic. Upon leaving the military, Pastor Larry owned businesses, then he was called into ministry. He was the State Chaplain of the American Legion in Wisconsin.
A visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of services Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in Taylor, MO.
Memorial Services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in Taylor, MO. Pastor Ryan Andrew Olson will officiate.
The family is being served by the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra, MO, as well as Flowers for You, also in Palmyra.
