GLEN GATES

Glenn Roland Gates, 83 of Williamstown, MO., died September 26, 2015 at the Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.

He was born December 8, 1931 in Clark County, Missouri the son of Walter and Mary Franks Gates. On January 23, 1956 he was united in marriage to Wilma Kennedy in Kahoka, Missouri. She survives.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Glenn was a longtime farmer in Clark County and had various odd jobs.

He was lifetime member of the American Legion and a 3rdDegree member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the St. Michaels Catholic Church in Kahoka.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and always cherished his time with his children and grandchildren.

He is also survived by two sons, Ralph Gates of Canton, Mo., and Roland Mike Gates, of Williamstown, Mo., two daughters, Rosemary Parker and her husband, Bob of Ursa, Ill., and Ruth Bowers and her husband Gary of Kirksville, Mo., four grandchildren, Nathan Gates, Carrie Parker, Nathaniel Parker and Katharine Parker, a sister-in-law, Shirley Gates of Blue Eye, Mo., nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, David and Calvin Gates.

A gathering of remembrance was held Sept. 29, 2015 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka with family meeting with friends at that time. A rosary was recited by Pastoral Administrator Kristin Roth.
