LOIS KAY TAYLOR

Mrs. Lois Kay Taylor, 74, of Canton, Mo., died January 16, 2019 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.

She was born April 15, 1944 in Quincy, IL a daughter of Clifford Lee and Letha Mitchell Hickman. She married Lee W. Taylor on December 18, 1965 in Shelbina, MO. He survives.

Lois graduated from Bethel High School and earned a Bachelors degree from Missouri State Teachers College in 1966. She was a member of the Canton Christian Church and took pleasure in being a homemaker. She loved to sew, crochet, garden, can vegetables and grow a variety of cactus. She also loved to be with her grandchildren, attend sporting events and had a fondness for pets especially her beagle dogs. Lois also enjoyed sitting in the porch watching humming birds.

Survivors include her husband Lee of Canton; one daughter, Linda Taylor (Patrick) Winkleman of Kirksville, MO and their children, Alexandra and Zachary Winkleman both of Kirksville; son, David (Ellen) Taylor of Palmyra, MO and their children, Lauren and Avery Taylor both of Palmyra and son, Jack (Anita) Taylor of Canton and their children, Hanna, Kadence, Brian and Clayton Taylor all of Canton; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Doris Higbee.

Funeral services were held January 21, 2019 at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton with Pastor Mandy Gosik officiating. Pallbearers: Avery Taylor, Zachary Winkleman, Patrick Winkleman, David Taylor, Jack Taylor, Jere Taylor and Bill Taylor. Honorary Pallbearers: Alexandra Winkleman, Lauren Taylor, Hanna Taylor, Kadence Taylor, Brian Taylor and Clayton Taylor. Music: Let There Be Peace on Earth and Amazing Grace. Visitation was held January 20, 2019 at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton.

Burial will be in Forest Grove Cemetery in Canton

The family suggests memorials be made to the Canton Christian Church.
