JIM PIERCE

Jim Pierce, 67, died September 18, 2015 in Bartonville Ill.

He was born in Danville, Ill., on January 24, 1948 to Ralph E. and Mildred B. (Hanley) Pierce. The family moved to Canton and bought their current farm in 1950.

He was wed to Donna Ludwig on March 21 1970 in Quincy Ill. They have four daughters Jennifer (Tom) West of Zion IL; Michelle (Dan) Fahser, Melissa Pierce, and LeAnne (Cody) Kaylor of Canton; six grandchildren Ethan Fahser and Elizabeth Fahser of Canton; Lauren, Dylan and Sydney West of Zion Ill.; and Delanie Pierce of Canton. six grandchildren Ethan Fahser and Elizabeth Fahser of Canton; Lauren, Dylan and Sydney West of Zion IL; and Delanie Pierce of Canton. All survive.

Jim loved working on his farm, excavating and running loaders, dozers, trackhoes and other large machinery. He enjoyed going to work every day and always had many projects started and welcomed help from anyone around. Jim owned and operated Pierce Excavating for many years before starting Pierce Trucking. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Immanuel United Methodist Church, and the American Legion. He was an eleven year cancer survivor and proudly supported by his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial celebration has been planned for October 10 at the family farm, friends and family are encouraged to attend. Ashes will be spread at 5 p.m., bon fire to follow.

With Jims love and past donations to Canton area, memorials may be made to the family at Peoples Bank of Wyaconda for a community project in his name.
