Wilma Irene Rife, 98, of Quincy, Ill., formerly of Steffenville, Mo., died September 26, 2018, in Sunset Home in Quincy, Il.
She was born December 25, 1919, at Nelsonville, MO the daughter of Arthur Perville and Inez Otten Gunnel. She married Leon Holt Rife of January 1, 1937, at Steffenville, Mo. He died December 29, 1994.
Wilma was born in Marion County, Mo., in the Nelsonville area and received her education at Steffenville, Mo. She resided for several years in the Steffenville area where she and her husband were engaged in farming. She has lived in Quincy for the past 10 months and prior to that had lived in the Houston, Texas area for twenty-two years.
Wilma loved traveling, spending time with her friend’s playing cards, she enjoyed her time with her dogs, pets and animals and also enjoyed sewing and cooking especially Thanksgiving
Surviving are one son Gary L. (Vicki) Rife of Magnolia, TX, five grandchildren, Gary Craig (Damita) Rife of Columbia, MO, Gregory N. Rife of Palmyra, MO, Kimberley Ann (Steven) Wall of Round Rock, TX, Lanie (Scott) Hallmark and Kelly (Drew) Wilke all of Tomball, TX, eleven great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Wilma was also preceded in death by her parents, one son Bobby Gene Rife, one brother Darrel Gunnell and three grandchildren
Graveside services were held September 29, 2018, in the Steffenville Cemetery. Chaplin Jerry Edison officiated the services. Visitation was held prior to services in the Coder funeral Chapel in LaBelle, Mo. Casket bearers: Dustin Rife, Christopher Rife, John Meyer, Craig Rife, Gregory Rife and Gary Rife.
