Matthew McGoffin Campbell, 61, of Lewistown, Mo., diedAugust 16, 2018, in Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.

He was born March 9, 1957, in Knox, IN, the son of Harlan Edward and Enid Evelyn Langer Campbell. He was united in marriage to Donna Sparrow on July 22, 1989, in Wichita, KS.

Matthew graduated from Knox County High School in Edina, MO. He served his country in the United States Navy from 1975 to 1979. He was employed for nine years with the Knox County Road and Bridge crew and for the last twenty-six years has worked for Titan Wheel in Quincy, IL. He was a St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed visiting Civil War battle sites and re-enactments. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, son and family

Surviving are his wife Donna Campbell of Lewistown, MO, son, Joshua Campbell of Lewistown, MO, four brothers, Harlan (Susie) Campbell of Jacksonville, MO, George Campbell of Edina, MO, Richard Dean (Margaret) Campbell of Eugene, OR and Michael (Janet) Campbell of Broken Arrow, OK, three sisters Anna (Archie) Jackson, of Springfield, MO, Helma Campbell of Knox City, MO, and Enid Stendebach of Hannibal, MO, two sisters-in-law, Debbie Waibel of Raytown, LA, Cherie McCarty of Lewistown, MO, special friends Betty (Bill) Abell of Durham, MO, sister-in-law Phyllis Campbell of Shelbyville, MO, and brother-in-law, Ron (Lola) Sparrow of Lewistown, MO and several nieces and nephews.

Matthew was preceded in death by his parents, his mother and father-in-law, Wayne and Cleta Sparrow and three brothers Lonnie, Frank and Gene Campbell.

Funeral services were held August 21, 2018, in the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, Mo., with Father George Kramer officiating. Musical selections: The Dance and Go Rest High On That Mountain. Casket bearers were nephews, Tommy Bowen, Rick Sparrow, Blain Bowen, Randy Leckbee, Brent Abell, Billy Abell and Scot Sparrow. Visitation was held Aug. 20 at the Coder Funeral Chapel.

Burial with full military honors was in the Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery in Ewing, Mo.
