Mrs. Georgia Mae Felter, 87 of Lewistown, Missouri was called home by her Lord and Savior on August 31, 2015.

She was born December 11, 1927 near Hunnewell, Missouri to Roscoe A. and Mary (Pierceall) Sharpe.

On April 8, 1949 she was united in marriage to Clyde E. Bud Felter. He preceded her in death on September 29, 2008.

Georgia was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Lewistown and served as secretary at Gethsemane Baptist Church for 15 years. She was a substitute pianist and taught Sunday school for over 50 years. She served on the Lewis County C-1 School Board for 6 years and was treasurer of the Ewing R-4 School District for over 7 years where she was the first office secretary and sometimes substitute teacher. Georgia finished her education and received a Masters Degree in Education at Northeast Missouri State University and became a full time teacher for 35 years retiring from Quincy Public School District. In her retirement years, she enjoyed sewing and quilting. She also enjoyed helping others and especially enjoyed her grandsons and her siblings grandchildren.

She is survived by a daughter, Andrea Lea (Mike) Nell of Maywood, Mo. and a son, John Mark (Jodie) Felter of LaGrange, Mo.; three grandsons, Corey Felter, Allen Nell and Collin Felter; two special nieces Brenda (Kenny) Weber of Liberty, Tx and Pamela Outley of Oklahoma; two special great nephews, Cole and Ross Weber; a sister, Mrs. Nina (John) McKenzie, Jr. of Lewistown, Mo.; three brothers, Darrell (Jeanettia) Sharpe of New Bloomfield, Mo., L. Vincil (Kathy) Sharpe of Dentam, Al. and Gary (Julie) Sharpe of Chesterfield, Mo.; two sister-in-laws, Mrs. Betty (Harold) Charlton of Hannibal, Mo. and Mrs. Elizabeth Sharpe of Lewistown, Mo.; and several nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Mary F. (Porter) Lillard, two brothers, James V. (Rose) Sharpe and John R. Sharpe, two sisters-in-law, Alfreda (Lawrence) Seba and Norma (Bill) Renner and a brother-in-law, Bob Patterson.

Funeral services were held September 4, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Lewistown, Missouri with Pastor Ted Middleton officiating. Visitation was held Sept. 3, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Lewistown. Pallbearers: Todd McKenzie, Steve McKenzie, Mike McKenzie, Joe McKenzie, Greg Sharpe and Dwayne Sharpe. Honorary Pallbearers: All generations of nieces and nephews. Music by the McKenzie singers

Burial was in Grand View Burial Park at Hannibal, Missouri.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Lewistown or American Heart Association.
