OTTO BRUNER HONORED

Otto Bruner who was the first man from Lewis County to die in action in WWI was honored on the one hundred year anniversary of his death. The American Legion Post 170 is named in honor of Mr. Bruner and a ceremony was held July 15 at Forest Grove Cemetery in Canton. Members of the Otto Bruner Post 170 and LaGrange Scout Pack 173 took part in the ceremony. Pictured are. front row: Zander Kennedy, Jesse Kennedy and Logan Daugherty. Jim Lewellen was the master of ceremonies and Lewellen also worked on the Bruner gravesite in Forest Grove Cemetery; A picture of Bruner who was 29 years old when he was killed. The Otto Bruner Post 170 presented a gun salute and Taps were played by Bill Dorris.
