Patricia Ann Spindler, 57, of La Grange, Mo., died August 21, 2015 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.

She was born December 9, 1957 in Quincy, Ill, a daughter of Richard and G. Sharleen Dinwiddie Boltz. She married Kent Spindler on May 7, 1977 in in the La Grange Christian Church. He survives.

Patty was a member of the La Grange Christian Church. She served as La Grange City Clerk since 1991 and held the designations of MMC, CMC, CCA, MACC and MCL. Patty served as Municiple Circuit Clerk for the City of La Grange and was a former member of the Eagles Club in Canton.

She and Kent served as foster parents for many years and assisted with over 70 children over the years. Patty and Kent also enjoyed trout fishing several times a year along with camping. Patty loved to knit and crochet and made everyone a blanket. She also loved spending time with her grandkids. She served on the La Grange Senior Housing Board.

She is survived by her husband, Kent of La Grange; daughters, Joni Garner of Ewing, Mo., Elizabeth McKinney of La Grange, Billie Birky of Wyaconda, Mo; Bronya Gilmore of La Grange; sons, Jamie Spindler of LaGrange and Kyle Spindler of Canton, Mo; sister, Becky Boltz of La Grange, grandchildren, Gregory, Derek, Cassidee, ShiAnn, Abbey, Riley, Nevaeh, Brittany, Ashley, Nicole, Daniel, Gage and Burton and several brothers and sisters in law and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one infant daughter Morgan Spindler, one brother Michael Boltz and one sister Penny A. White.

Funeral services were held August 24, 2015 at the Davis Funeral Home in La Grange with Rev. Kary Myers officiating. Visitation was held Sunday, August 23, 2015 at the Davis Funeral Home in La Grange. Music was recorded selections. Pallbearers: Henry Gunsauls, John White, Larry White, Ronnie Powers, Ryder White and Hank Fisher. Honorary Pallbearers: Jerry Fisher, Henry Gunsauls Jr., Dale McNelly and Mike Lowe.

Burial will be in Marks Cemetery in La Grange.

The family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
