JOSEPH WARE

Joseph D.Ware, 88, of Quincy, died August 19, 2015.

Joseph was born March 28, 1927 in Jamesport, Mo., the son of John Thomas and Alma Railsback Ware. He married Arlene Emily Novotny on Feb. 11, 1950.

Joseph served in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Sierra during World War II. He was proud to be able to travel back to the United States on the U.S.S. Ticonderoga when the war came to an end. In his younger years, he worked for the Wabash Railroad and Ford Motor Company. He spent several years running a small business with his brother, Max, called Ware Manufacturing manually producing grain scoops. Joe was a Coremaker at Gardner Denver in LaGrange, Mo., and retired after 32 years..He also worked part-time job at Kirlins, Inc.

Joseph liked camping and baseball games. He played fast pitch softball on a team for St. Patrick, MO. Joe enjoyed a lengthy retirement. He enjoyed family get-togethers, reunions, and picnics He spent over 10 years restoring a 1957 Ford Fairlane Hardtop Convertible with his son Duane.. He loved spending time with his family. Joseph was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish.

Survivors include seven children, Judith (Kent) Wietholder of Liberty, IL, Debbie Uppinghouse of Quincy, Joseph (Shelley) Ware, Jr. of Quincy, Janet (Mike) Cole of Camp Point, IL, Duane (Carolyn) Ware of Camp Point, IL, Julie Ware of Quincy, and Todd (Michele) Ware of Quincy; 36 grandchildren and 66 great grandchildren.

Joseph was preceded in death by his wife, daughter, Donna Zenk, two great grandchildren, two brothers, Max and Rex Ware, and a sister, Christine Huston.

Funeral Mass was held August 25, 2015 at Blessed Sacrament Church.

Burial: Calvary Cemetery.
