Mrs. Lucille Gillespie, 97 of Ewing, Missouri died March 31, 2018 at the Country Aire Retirement Estates at Lewistown, Missouri.

The daughter of Henry and Ella Faulconer Levengood was born on October 8, 1920 in rural Lewis County, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Ivan Gillespie on June 14, 1941 at Monticello, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 21, 2002.

Lucille was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Ewing. She enjoyed playing her guitar, gardening, sewing, quilting, painting and artwork, and especially reading her Bible. She taught Sunday school, vacation bible school and led a Bible study at the Ewing Senior Center. Most of all she loved her family and friends and shared her love for Jesus in all she said and did.

Surviving are two sons, Larry (Dorothy) Gillespie of La Grange, Mo. and Kenny (Donna) Gillespie of Lewistown, Mo.; daughter-in-law, Diane Gillespie of Hurst, Tx; seven grandchildren, Steve (Jackie) Gilliespie of White House, Tn., Darren (Denise) Gillespie of Ft. Worth, Tx., Brian (Kristen) Gillespie of Warrensburg, Mo., Leane Gillespie of Hurst, Tx., Pam Stewart of La Grange, Mo., Kelly (Aaron) Moore of Lewistown, Mo. and Michelle (Brian) DeSpain of Hurst, Tx.; grandson-in-law, Donald Holbert of Springfield, Il.; eighteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Orville Levengood of Kansas City, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sons, Gary, Leland, Paul and Ronald Gillespie, a daughter, Mary Gillespie, a daughter-in-law, Patricia Gillespie and a granddaughter, Lori Holbert.

Visitation will be held Wednesday evening. April 6, 2018 from 4 until 8 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Ewing Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 7, 2018 at 10:30 AM at the First Baptist Church of Ewing, Missouri with Rev. Tim Smith officiating. Pallbearers: Steve Gillespie, Darren Gillespie, Lucas Gillespie, Aaron Moore, Donald Holbert, Ethan Stewart, Brian Gillespie-currently serving in Afghanistan, Channing Gillespie, Donald Holbert, Jr., Brian DeSpain, Wes Friday II and Allen Moore.

Burial will be in the Lewistown Cemetery, Lewistown, Missouri.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Ewing.

Arrangements are with Arnold’s Funeral Home in Lewistown.
