James E. Roberson, 75 of rural Williamstown, Missouri, died March 14, 2018 at his home in rural Williamstown.

The son of John Evert and Wilma Kathern VanOs Roberson was born on November 22, 1942 at Williamstown, Missouri.

He was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Williams on July 10, 1961 at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

Jim attended the Edina and Monticello schools as a small child.  He graduated from Canton High School in 1960. He served in the U.S. Army from 1961-1964, two of those years in Germany.  He enjoyed watching television and mushroom hunting. He worked in farming and later for Lewis County Road and Bridge.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Roberson of Williamstown, Mo.; three children, Becky Ann Roberson of Williamstown, Mo., Debra Ruth Anderson and fiancé, Doug Florea of Kahoka, Mo. and Christopher James (Cynthia) Roberson of Canton, Mo.; five grandchildren, Jamie Roberson, Staff Sargeant Janeen Roberson, Travis Anderson and fiancé, Bella Parker, Nathan Anderson and Brandon Dochterman; three great-grandchildren, Halia Whiles, Robbie Whiles and Jasper Anderson; two sisters, Kathy (Jim) West of Canton, Mo. and Marilyn (Delbert) Brumbaugh of Canton, Mo.; brother, Steven Roberson of Normal, Il.; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Memorial funeral services were held March 18, 2018 at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Canton, Missouri with Rev. Paul Milliken officiating. Honorary pallbearers were his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Inurnment was in the Monticello Cemetery, Monticello, Missouri with graveside military honors by Lewis County Memorial Post 578. Visitation was held March 18 until the time of services at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Canton.
