Cole Eisenberg is recovering from a leg surgery he had in Columbia this week. He is doing well and back in school. His grandmother, Phyllis Eisenberg, received word that her step-mother, Patsy McLaughlin Logsdon passed away in Florida. We are happy for Cole and sorry for the family loss.

Mr.Ralph Omer's funeral service was held in Center this week. He was an excellent wood carver and enjoyed giving gifts away he had made.

Judge Rachel Bringer Shepherd sang for the memorial service in spite of almost losing her voice with a flu bug.

Charilyn Stalder, Bonnie Bronstine and Kay Wilson attended the Lions Pancake Breakfast in LaGrange and enjoyed visiting with many friends. Charilyn noted there were a number of folks from Maywood in attendance.

We were sorry to learn of the death of Jackson David  Primm He played baseball with a number of young people in this area and we extend sympathy to his family.

There was another sad loss this week with the death of Larry Edmunds of Palmyra. He and Sarah were active in Zion Lutheran School when our daughter was there and they have had a great business and personal reputation.

Everyone I have talked to that was out on Saturday evening said the driving was terrible. Bobby and Rachel Shepherd went to Paris for the Baptist Church Valentine Banquet and attended the Nutrition Banquet in Hannibal and said it was terrible on the roads. Rick and Mauvareen Meyer

said they were traveling home from St. Louis and saw a lot of accidents and it made for a slow trip home.

Happy Anniversary to Kenny and Irene Myers as they celebrate their anniversary on Valentine's Day.

Several guests attended a birthday supper for Dale and Angela Smith this week. Everyone enjoyed the good food and there was a lot of fun and laughter. Congratulations to Dale and Angela!
