RAY A. (SHOCKER) SCHAFER

Mr. Ray A. (Shocker) Schafer, age 62, of La Grange, MO passed away, Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 12:35 p.m. at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
He was born March 17, 1955 in Keokuk, IA a son of Martin Andrew and May Francis Boudreau Schafer.

Ray was a member of the Notre Dame Catholic Church in La Grange, River Valley Community Golf Course in Canton and was a former member of the Molders Union. Ray
served as a rural carrier for the Quincy Herald Whig for several years and had previously worked at Gardner Denver Foundry in La Grange for over 30 years and also at
Knapheide Manufacturing after the foundry closed. He was a passionate St. Louis Cardinals fan and also enjoyed bowling and golf.

Survivors include his daughter, Rachele Schafer of Daytona Beach, FL and sister, Ann Schafer of Mendon, IL, He was preceded in death by his parents and maternal and paternal grandparents.
Celebration of Life services will be held Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at O’Sheas in Quincy, IL.

The family suggests memorials be made to the La Grange Lions Club, in care of Davis Funeral Home in La Grange, MO.
