NORMA JEAN PRISNER

January 11, 2018

Norma Jean Prisner, age 85, while surrounded by her loving children at Blessing Hospital, was called to eternal rest and walked through the gates of heaven on January 5, 2018.

Norma, of Canton, Missouri, was born June 15, 1932 in Lewis County to Pat and Mildred Gaines Raleigh. She attended school in Canton and graduated from Canton High School. She later graduated from the Burlington Beauty Academy in November 1953.

Over her life Norma had many different jobs and hobbies, but one thing never changed was her love for spending time with her four children and later her grandchildren. She also rejoiced in the years she got to take care of her mother who lived to be 108.

She cooked for many years in Canton and acquired a regular following. Many people enjoyed her particular way of cooking so much that they would only come in if they knew she was working. For fun she enjoyed scratch off lottery tickets and an occasional visit to the casino in LaGrange.

Left to remember Norma and her love are her four children, David Prisner of Canton, Missouri, Danny Prisner of LaGrange, Missouri, Dawn Berghager and husband Craig of Lathrop, Missouri, Debbie Cottrell and husband Renzie of Monticello, Missouri; five grandchildren, Haley Berghager, Brodie Berghager, Hannah Cottrell, Kim Martin and husband Tyler, Ben Cottrell; a brother, Larry Raleigh of Canton, Missouri; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Pete Raleigh, infant sister Elizabeth Ann Raleigh, brother Floyd Raleigh, and brother Lloyd Raleigh.

Norma will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother and for the simple joy she brought to those around her. She cared deeply for all those in her life and everyone can say it was a blessing to have met her.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton with Fr. Christopher Aubuchon officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, January 12, 2017 from 4 until 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.

Pallbearers: David Prisner, Danny Prisner, Renzie Cottrell, Craig Berghager, Cameron Prisner, Brodie Berghager, Hannah Cottrell and Haley Berghager

Burial will be in Forest Grove Cemetery in Canton.

The family would like to extend a thank you to the loving staff of the Lewis Co. Health Department for their service and dedication and suggests donations be made to the donor’s choice.
