STEVEN GRAGG

Steven Dale Gragg, 57, of Independence, Mo., formerly of LaGrange, Mo., died July 2, 2015 at the Cancer Treatment Center in Tulsa, Okla.

Steven was born on September 14, 1958 in Quincy, Ill. The son of Victor Dale Gragg and Norma F. (Cox) Gragg. He married Marcie Buttgen on March 16, 1990 in Independence, Mo., recently celebrating 25 years of marriage.

Steven attended LaGrange Elementary School and graduated in 1976 from Fort Osage School District in Independence, Mo. In 1980 he graduated from University of Missouri, in Kansas City. Steven worked at Fort Osage Schools Central Office for 18 years and the past 12 years for the Internal Revenue Services. He was a member of Susquehanna Baptist Church working with the youth groups. Steven was very involved in the lives of his children, family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Marcie Gragg of Independence, Mo., four sons, Austin, Joshua, Zachary and Jacob. His mother, Norma Gragg of Lee's Summit, Mo. a brother, Stanton N. (Robyn) Gragg of Lone Jack, Mo., aunts Marilyn (George) Hoffman of Canton, Mo. and Judy Gragg of Quincy, Ill., two nieces and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father Victor D. Gragg, an uncle Jim Gragg and aunt Ramona Gragg Cottrell, grandparents Harold and Leona Cox and Jess and Violet Gragg.

A celebration of Steven's life was held July 21 at the Woods Chapel United Methodist Church, Lee's Summit, Mo.

The family suggests memorials be made to the City of Independence, McCoy Park Project Independence, Mo.
