LEON FELDKAMP

Mr. Leon Feldkamp, 69, of La Grange, Mo., died December 10, 2017 at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Mo.

He was born May 7, 1948 near La Grange, MO a son of Carl Wm. and Dorothy Louise Ludwig Feldkamp. He married Sharon K. Schnelle on July 3, 1970 at the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in La Grange.

Leon was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in La Grange and was a 1966 graduate of La Grange High School. He enjoyed woodworking and gave many of his creations away. He loved to hunt, fish and be outdoors to garden and work in the soil—he was a farm boy at heart. Leon took pleasure in helping his family and neighbors with various jobs and projects. He could plumb, weld and fabricate almost anything and took pride in being able to solve problems. He worked at Moorman Manufacturing for over 30 years working as a Herdsman with both cattle and hogs. He had also worked at Hollister Whitney in Quincy and was self-employed in the insulation business.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Feldkamp of LaGrange; two sons, Derek (Heather) Feldkamp and Darin (Melissa) Feldkamp both of Canton; five grandchildren, William, Christopher, Braydon, Caitlynn and Ashlynn Feldkamp all of Canton; brothers, Wayne (Mary) Feldkamp of La Grange, Earl (Joyce) Feldkamp of La Grange and Lewis (Dianne) Feldkamp of Warrenton, Mo; sister, Janet (Glen) Sittig of Parkville, Mo; sisters-in-law, Judy (Patt Huner) Schnelle of Quincy, Joyce Lay of Canton; brothers-in-law, Jim (Alice) Schnelle of La Grange and Steve (Mary) Schnelle of Ohio and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Paul and Donald Feldkamp and one sister, Ruth Feldkamp.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in La Grange with Pastor Jacob Hercamp officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, December 15, 2017 from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton.

Music: Wilma Maples, Organist; Congregational Hymns: “Oh God Our Help in Ages Past”, “Amazing Grace” and “Jeruseleum the Golden”

The family suggests memorials be made to the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church or the Ladies Aid of the Church.
