GLEN OLSON

Mr. Glen Olson, 91, of Ewing, Mo., died December 7, 2017 in the Country Aire Retirement Estates at Lewistown, MO.

He was born June 11, 1926, a son of Carl Franklin and Bucola Faye Bales Olson. He married Frances Louise Noble on June 5, 1949 in Ewing, Mo. She survives.

In earlier years Glen farmed for Fred Keller and later worked in the grain business for Lester Hicks. Glen worked for Moorman Manufacturing in Quincy, IL for 22 years retiring in 1986. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Ewing, Quincy area Travel Trailer Club and the Holiday Camping Club. He and Frances traveled to Arizona from 1986 to 2007 where they spent the winter months. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Frances of Ewing, Mo; two daughters, Karen Platz of Seguin, Texas and Tammy (Tom) Schroeder of Maywood, Mo; one son, Doug (Debbie) Olson of Quincy, Ill; five grandsons, Shawn (Jennifer) Platz of Austin, Texas, Trent (Katie) Schroeder of Palmyra, Mo, Ryne Platz of Seguin, Texas, Brett Olson of Brentwood, Mo; and Derrick (Samantha) Platz of Seguin, Texas; five granddaughters, Amanda (Chris) Schultze of Seguin, Texas, Alyce (Mario) Rosales of Seguin, Texas, Brooke (Mike) Spring of Springfield, IL, Tiffany (Brian) Raines of Arlington, Texas and Triston (Steven) Jones of Palmyra, Mo; 16 great grandchildren, one brother Claude Emery (Edna) Olson of Port Charlotte, FL and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death his parents, three sisters, Eunice Olson, Lavina Spratt, Juanita Olson, and one son-in-law, Stan Platz.

Funeral services were held December 11, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Ewing with Rev. Tim Smith and Rev. Elmer Hagood officiating.Pallbearers: Shawn Platz, Trent Schroeder, Ryne Platz, Brett Olson, Derrick Platz, Mike Spring, Steven Jones, Chris Schultze, Mario Rosales and Brian Raines. Music: Debbie Faulconer, vocalist; Linda Robertson, pianist.

Visitation was held December 10, 2017 at the Ball-Davis Funeral Home in Ewing, Mo.

Burial was in Durham Cemetery, Durham, Mo.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Country Aire Retirement Estates.
