MICHAEL BRIAN NEWELL

Mr. Michael Brian Newell, 59, of Canton, Mo., formerly of Carthage, Ill., passed away November 25, 2017 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.

He was born June 29, 1958 in Carthage, Ill., a son of Brian B. and Donna J. Zimmerman Newell. He married Nickie Lynn Rich in Delray Beach, Fla. on March 10, 1988. She survives.

Mike was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1800 of Canton. He was a passionate Nascar Fan, loved riding horses and lived life to its fullest. He was especially proud of his children and his nieces and nephews and enjoyed spending time with all of his family.

Survivors include his wife Nickie Newell, of Canton; his mother, Donna Newell of Canton; one son, Michael S. Newell of Ft. Madison, Iowa; one daughter, Maggie (Matthew) Moobery of Pensacola, Fla., six grandchildren, Ariana Newell of Navarre, Fla., Ruby Delperdang of Keokuk, Iowa, Mark, Luke, Esther and Ruth Moobery all of Pensacola; brothers and sisters, Laura and (Kevin) Duncan of Canton, Leasa Jones of Washington, IL, Linda Duncan of Canton, Leslie Greenslaugh of Canton, Steve and (Sandy) Newell of Dyer, IN and Brian and (Caroline) Newell of Washington, IL and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 10 a.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton, Mo., with Pastor Matthew Moobery officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of services at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton, Mo.

Graveside services and burial will be held Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. in the Moss Ridge Cemetery in Carthage, Ill.

The family suggests memorials be made to Nickie Newell for a charity to be named at a later time.
