JOHN LILLARD

John G. Lillard, 87, of LaGrange, Mo., died November 20, 2017 at the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Palmyra, Mo.

John was born August 31, 1930, in Canton, Mo., to Lee Davis and Kathryn Painter Lillard.

He was married to Betty Louise Stout on September 18, 1970 in New London, Mo . She survives.

Other survivors include two sons, James Lillard (Joy) of Troy, MO and John Thomas Lillard (Tracy) of Villa Grove, IL; and one sister, Kathleen Wilson (Stan) of Canton, MO.

John was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, David Lillard.

John graduated from Kahoka High School and then later graduated from Kirksville Teacher's College in 1956.

Professionally, John was a farmer. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.

He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. John enjoyed trips to Red Lobster with his family. Most of all, John cherished the time he spent with his family and grandchildren.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Palmyra, Mo. John was a 50 year member of the Masons.

Funeral Services were held November 25, 2017 at the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra, Mo. Pastor Paul Reese officiated. Visitation was held prior to services. Pallbearers will be Jim Lillard, Tom Lillard, Vickie Wilson, Randy Krietemeyer, Richard Krietemeyer and Scott Stiffey.

Burial was at Barkley Cemetery in New London, Mo.
