HAROLD F. SHANNON

Mr. Harold F. Shannon, 75, of Canton, Mo., died July 13, 2015 at the Lewis County Nursing Home in Canton.

He was born August 31, 1939 in Quincy, Ill., a son of Frank H. and Mildred L. Walker Shannon. He married Betty L. McClung on July 19, 1969 in Trantum, Penn. She survives.

Harold was a member of the First Baptist Church in Canton and was a Veteran of the Navy serving from 1957 until 1960. He worked at Gardner Denver in La Grange, Calcium Carbonate in Quincy, IL, Eagles Aire 1400 of Canton and Gully Transportation in Quincy for 21 years.

Survivors include his wife Betty of Canton; one sister Judy Jennings of Quincy; seven children, Rick (Crystal) Adamire of Canton, Joan (Jim) Roland of St. Cloud, FL, Timothy (Diana) Adamire of Montrose, IA, Kathy (Barry) Pentecost of St. Louis, MO, Shawn M. (Michelle) Shannon of Franklin, VA, Rhonda Brown of Hannibal, MO and Kyle (Lori) Shannon of Canton, Mo; 21 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and one great great grandson and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Daniel Lee Shannon, sister Susan Downs and grandson Christopher McIntosh.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 10 a.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton with Pastor Brian Stone officiating. Music will be recorded selections. Pallbearers areCorey Martin, Shawn P. Shannon, Chance Shannon, Josh McIntosh, Lance Brown and John Anderson. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 15, 2015 from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton.

Burial and military honors will be in Forest Grove Cemetery in Canton

The family suggests memorials be made to the National Parkinson Foundation.
