JOHN E. BRINGER

John E. Bringer passed with family by his side July 26, 2016 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL. at the age the age of 68 years old.John Edward Bringer was born October 17, 1947 to Raymond and Roberta (Settler) Bringer of LaGrange, MO. John attended LaGrange High School where he played one football game. While in school he worked at Arnold’s fuel station. After graduating in 1966 he worked at Missouri Gravel Company and for Gardner Denver for many years. He cared for his dad and step-mother while farming on the side.He married Janet Marie Smith on October 14, 1989. Together with sister-in-law Carlene “Cookie” Johnson they ran the Hat Rack Café and Saloon, then he was the owner of John E B’s Bar & Grill.John was a soon to be initiated honorary TKE. He was a member of the Eagles, Machinists Union, Harley HOG Group and Canton Saddle Club. He had just retired from Gardner Denver where he had made many friends. He loved farming, camping, raccoon hunting, and frying fish for for everyone.He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Shanda Smith and husband Retired U.S. Army SGT Kevin Smith of Canton; Shelly Smith and significant other Patrick Wallace of Quincy, and Samantha Glover and her husband Matt Glover of LaGrange, and his beloved dogs Dutchess and Harley. John is also survived by one brother Douglas (Lidia) Bringer of Homestead, IA and three sisters Marjorie Burwell of Canton, Betty Seydel of Washington, IA and Verlinda (Marvin) Prior of Columbus Junction, IA.He loved his four grandchildren Lance Smith, Justin Taylor, Sawyer Smith, and Aiden Bergheger; many nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother; Dorothy Bringer; two sisters, Beverly Jean Long and Jo Dene Bringer; sister-in-law Connie Bringer and 3 nephews, Kim and Kent Long and Allan Ray Bringer. Funeral services were held July 30, 2016 at Arnold's Funeral Home in Canton, Missouri with Pastor Bryan Byquist officiating.Pallbearers: Matthew Glover, Patrick Wallace, Justin Taylor, Lance Smith, Robert Glover and Greg Burnett. Honorary Pallbearers: Aiden Bergheger, Josef Fellinger, Bryce Burnett, Walter Metz, Bobby Ferguson, Patrick Kennedy, Joel Demmel, Steven Genck, Derrick Genck, Retired U.S. Army SGT Kevin Smith, Gary Wayne Thomas Jr. and Billy Keith Smith. Burial was in the Marks Cemetery in LaGrange, Missouri.Memorials may be made to the Grandchildren's Educational Fund or the Donor's choice.
