Jordan Berhorst, Trey Fryer, and Trevor Morrall of Canton received the State FFA Degree, the highest degree members can receive at the state level.

These Canton FFA members were one of 1,051 degree recipients receiving the honor during the State FFA Degree Ceremony at the 96th Missouri FFA Convention, April 17-19, at the Hearnes Center on the University of Missouri Campus. Awarding of the degree is based on a member’s supervised agricultural experience program in agribusiness or production agriculture and leadership ability as demonstrated through involvement in FFA, school, and community activities. The State FFA Degree award charms are sponsored by MFA Inc., Columbia. “The State FFA Degree is the highest recognition a state can award, representing a select group of members, who have achieved a high level of success,” said State FFA Advisor Keith Dietzschold. On the national level, Missouri has the second-largest number of American FFA Degree recipients of any state.  In November 2023, 608 Missouri FFA members received the American FFA Degree.” Open the Door was the theme for this year’s Missouri FFA Convention. The Missouri FFA has 26,830 members representing 362 chapters. The national organization has more than 945,000 members representing 9,163 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.

Jordan Berhorst is the son of Alan and Nancy Berhorst. His supervised agriculture experience includes working for the Tire Shop. Jordan has been active in the FFA chapter serving as the chapter treasurer and a member of the trapshooting team. 

Trey Fyer is the son of Joey and Sarah Fryer. His supervised agriculture experience includes working for the Canton School District in maintenance, working for Hoewing Trucking, managing a wildlife food plot, and raising and showing broilers at the Lewis County Fair.  Trey has been active in the FFA chapter serving as the chapter sentinel and a member of the trapshooting team. 

Trevor Morrall is the son of Tony and Paula Morrall. His supervised agriculture experience included working for the Canton Vet Clinic and showing hams at the Lewis County Fair. Trevor has been active in the FFA chapter serving as chapter Reporter and Secretary and a member of the trapshooting team
